It was a pleasant congregation of cultures for the Consular Corps reception on Tuesday to launch Diplomatic Week.

Talk of the Town at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel overlooking New Kingston, was a melting pot of cultures as diverse accents filled the air. Boundaries were non-existent as the Jamaican spoke to the Canadian and Canadian to Australian and South African to Japanese, all representing their native country's diplomatic interests.

Dean of the Consular Corps, Grantley Stephenson, mirrored the setting in his speech. He spoke of his hopes for "solid partnerships" that will manifest themselves in growth. This seemed to be displayed right before his eyes with the mixture of spectators that listened attentively.

The networking continued with the host of resident and non-resident ambassadors enjoying fine wine and great food.
