WESTERN BUREAU:

Celebrating 50 'earthstrong' years, Claudette Bryan marked the milestone in style with family and friends, on the beautiful lawns of her home overlooking the city of Montego Bay last Friday.

Bryan, who along with husband Junour owns and operates one of the most reputable jewellery store in the West - Bryan's Jewellery and Leather Affair, had guests in awe when joined by her two children Janele and Jhaun, performed the new world anthem -Pharrell Williams' Happy as part of the evening's entertainment.

Their off-the-wall performance, which will be etched in the memories of those who witnessed it for years, was complemented by the incredibly talented Rock Band, which kept the excitement at fever pitch.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and happiness, coupled with an undeniable outpouring of love and appreciation for the birthday girl - who received glowing tributes and reflections from former inspector of police, Eric Daley, senior deacon at the Catholic Church, Baldwin Powell, and her best friend from primary school, Royton Pryce.

Guests were also treated to a sumptuous fare of roasted suckling pig, fish fillet in coconut sauce, curried goat, seafood, pasta salad, chicken in honey glaze, and a host of other delightful dishes.

Her friends, Dr Marsha-Ann Brown and corporal of police, Keneil Brown, emceed the event.
