The teaching-learning atmosphere at the Bickersteth Primary and Junior High School in St James has been greatly enhanced, thanks to the major efforts of staff from the First Global Bank (FGB) Montego Bay branch on Labour Day.

Armed with brooms and paint brushes, the financial team donated its efforts to spruce up several classrooms at the institution, primarily the grade four classrooms which welcomed a well-needed facelift.

The volunteers' labour extended way into the afternoon as they gently but adeptly applied fresh coats of paint to the interior of the classrooms, all while dusting and cleaning to give that picturesque look. Several members of school's staff along with parents also participated in the beautification project.

Three years so far

FGB has adopted the school for nearly three years and has made major headway in enhancing the learning process. The GraceKennedy-owned bank has made donations of musical instruments to the school's vibrant music programme, bolstering literacy and numeracy.
