COK promotes healthy lifestyle
On Friday, June 6, COK Sodality Co-operative Credit Union hosted another in its series of Healthy Fridays to ensure that its members and staff are aware of the importance of eating right, exercising and getting regular medical check-ups in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The day's activities included ECG tests provided by the Heart Foundation of Jamaica and free blood sugar and pressure tests for persons who visited the Diabetes Association of Jamaica's booth. Claudine Scott, head of marketing at COK, said the company is trying to promote as best as possible the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
"COK is fully committed to ensuring that its staff members and representatives engage in healthy lifestyle practices. Today, we are making the activities as enjoyable as possible for them," said Scott.
A number of companies, including Organo Gold and Proactive Lifestyle, showcased and promoted their products, while Kirk Distributors offered free facial analysis and treated the staff to healthy snacks.
Earlier this year, COK Sodality Co-operative Credit Union held a Work It Out Challenge, where staff were challenged to see who could lose the most weight. This challenge ended in May and the winners were rewarded.
"We want to add more longevity to the lives of our team and our members," Scott said.
