The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) has given vendors operating along the Clifton Boulevard and Manor Park areas of St. Andrew six weeks to relocate to the renovated Constant Spring Market.
Kingston ’s Mayor Desmond McKenzie said illegal vending would no longer be tolerated.
He said almost $3.5 million has been spent to renovate the Constant Spring market, and vendors should relocate to the premises by April 1.
Mayor McKenzie also said he will be initiating discussions with several entities, with the aim of securing a new location for vendors along Grants Pen Road.
He said until this is done, vending would be restricted to one side of the road, where it will not hamper pedestrian movement.
