A team of investigators in St. Elizabeth is trying to determine the cause of several bush fires in the parish yesterday.
An estimate of damage is also to be determined from the blaze, which burnt several acres of property.
The affected communities include Malvern, Bogue, Barton, Junction and Elgin.
Firefighters in the parish managed to put out the fires late last night.
However, it is reported that their efforts were greatly hampered, as only two units from the Junction and Black River fire departments were available.
The firefighters said the drought conditions in the parish also facilitated the spread of the fires.
