2030 education plan

Director General of the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), Dr. Wesley Hughes is blaming party politics for what he termed the failure of the education system.
He said successive governments have been changing the education plan to suit their agenda, rather than sticking to an independent plan crafted by all stakeholders.
Dr. Hughes said the institute has been consulting with both political parties, to develop a plan for improving the country’s education system.
Dr. Hughes was addressing a forum on the 2030 vision on national goals at the Cecil Charlton hall in Mandeville yesterday.
Vision 2030 is Jamaica’s first 25-year development Plan, which is aimed at putting Jamaica in a position to achieve developed country status by 2030.
