A teacher of the Jonathan Grant High School in St. Catherine is to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates Court next week Tuesday.
Marlon Black, 35, has been charged with 18 counts of unlawful wounding and assault.
Black, who is on a $30,000 station bail was charged last night following an incident in which six male students from his school were allegedly beaten by a group of men.
It is reported that Black missed a cell phone two weeks ago and was accused of contacting the group of men.
The police said they are still searching for the men involved in the beatings.
Ministry of Education personnel have reportedly been informed of the incident.
