The teacher of the Jonathan Grant High School in St. Catherine who was implicated in the beating of six students is to appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates Court today.

Marlon Black, 35, has been charged with 18 counts of unlawful wounding and assault.

Mr. Black who is on a $30,000 station bail was charged last week, following an incident in which six male students from his school were allegedly beaten by a group of men.

Mr. Black is accused of instructing the group of men to beat the boys after accusing them of stealing his cellular phone.

The police said they are still searching for the men involved in the beatings.

It was revealed that at least two of the six students had suffered relapses and were required to get additional treatment.
