KSAC seeks wrecking service
The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) has begun accepting bids for the provision of wrecking services.
Wrecker owners and operators have until April 7 to submit their bids.
Earlier this month, Mayor Desmond McKenzie announced that he would be suspending the towing of illegally parked vehicles for two weeks to facilitate a review of the towing service.
The KSAC also terminated the services of one of its contractors, A and G Wrecking Services following reports of its involvement in certain illegal activities.
The People’s National Party (PNP) councillor for the Duhaney Park division, Kevin Taylor has called for an independent investigation into reported irregularities surrounding the wrecking service at the KSAC.
Councillor Taylor wants Mayor Desmond McKenzie to have the Contractor General and Auditor General conduct an investigation into the wrecking service.
