St. James cop face criminal charges
The Montego Bay police constable linked to last year’s disappearance of a St. James man is facing criminal charges.
Constable Omar Gordon, 31, has been charged with conspiracy to kidnap and breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.
The charges follow an incident on June 13 last year, in which a man went missing after constable Gordon was involved in a false police operation.
It is reported that Howard Pattico and a female companion were at home in Bogue Village, St. James when gunmen, with bullet proof vests and caps marked ‘police’ entered.
The attackers reportedly robbed the couple of an undetermined sum of cash.
They also took Mr. Pattico and left the scene in a motor car, allegedly driven by Constable Gordon.
Mr. Pattico has not been seen or heard from since.
Constable Gordon who is attached to the Montego Bay Police Station is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
