Woman held for illegal firearm

A woman has been taken into custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm at a shop in Land Lease, Papine St. Andrew this morning.
It is reported that a joint police/military patrol conducted an operation in the community around 2 a.m.
The police said during the exercise a shop was searched and a Ruger pistol with eight 9 millimetre cartridges were found.
The woman who operated the shop was arrested.
