Finance ministry to approve toll rates

Minister of Finance, Audley Shaw is to approve the proposed rate of increase for the toll on the Portmore highway in St. Catherine.



Communications Manager in the Ministry of Transport, Reginald Allen, said the Transport Minister, Mike Henry, has already signed off on the rates. The rates were also approved by Cabinet..



He said they would be published to allow for public consultation as soon as the finance ministry grants approval.



The toll operators recently agreed to recommendations by the transport ministry, to have the application period for a rate increase reduced to once per year instead of bi-annually.
