The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, ODPEM, is asking people to be cautious when using the roads in Ocho Rios.
It said motorists should not attempt to cross-flooded roadways.
Residents are also being advised not to walk outside barefooted during or after flooding.
They are also advised to remove their refrigerators, stoves and furniture to higher ground or place them on building blocks and secure to the wall.
Residents are being asked to bury all dead animals as soon as possible.
