The suspect held in connection with yesterday’s death of a farmer in Clarendon is to be charged shortly.
Ronald Sutherland, 54, was reportedly chopped to death around 10 a.m. yesterday on his farm in Croft’s Hill.
The police said Sutherland and the suspect had been scheduled to appear in court yesterday in relation to a case of larceny.
They believe he was killed in an attempt to keep him from testifying.
Investigators said they have strong evidence linking the accused to the murder.
