Seaview student still hospitalised

The student of the Seaview Gardens Primary School in Kingston who was shot and injured in the community over the weekend remains hospitalised in critical condition.



The 11 year old girl was reportedly shot as rival gangs traded bullets in the community on Saturday.



Principal of the Seaview Gardens Primary School, Elaine Jones said the school community was informed that the child had died.



However, Mrs. Jones said a call from the girl’s mother earlier this morning confirmed that she was still alive.



She said several students at the school are now receiving counseling as a result of shock from the news that the child had died.
