Transport Minister Mike Henry is planning to meet with several principals of Kingston based high schools whose students have been reportedly involved in violent clashes in the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre.

There have been reports of a feud between St. George’s College and Kingston College students, with students from other schools joining in.

Mr. Henry said he feels it is his responsibility to give the matter serious consideration and seek to help diffuse the situation.

He said serious dialogue is necessary, as he will not allow the centre to become embroiled in the controversy.

Mr. Henry said if necessary he would meet with the Education and National Security ministries to help diffuse the situation.

The transportation centre’s management said all the necessary measures are being taken to ensure public order is maintained at the facility.

The management said passengers should not be concerned about using the facility.
