Gunman shoots land surveyors

A land surveyor was shot dead and another injured while working in Willodene, St. Catherine yesterday morning.



Livingston Beckford, 39, of Stewart Avenue, St. Catherine reportedly died after being shot by a gunman while his coworker remains hospitalised in serious condition.



The police said a gunman approached the men on Willow Way in the community, who immediately opened fire hitting them.



According to the police, the gunman was also shot and injured by one of the surveyors, before escaping.



They said the surveyor is a licensed firearm dealer.



The injured surveyors were taken to hospital where Beckford died around 5.20 p.m.
