Bahamian pilot returns to court

The Bahamian pilot who landed illegally on an abandoned airstrip in Clarendon is to return to court today.
The police said Jimmy Johnson was in control of the aircraft, which they believe was on a ganja mission in the parish.
Johnson who has been charged with illegal landing and illegal entry into Jamaica was remanded when he appeared in the Lionel Town Resident Magistrate court last week.
The aircraft was discovered on an abandoned airstrip shortly after 8 a.m. last Tuesday morning during a joint police/military operation.
According to the police, five people were seen running away from the aircraft on their approach.
The police said a search was carried out in the nearby community of Gimme-mi-bit where Johnson was found hiding inside a house under a bed.
Johnson is also facing drug related charges in Bahamas.
