Cuba/Jamaica sign MOU

Prime Minister Bruce Golding and the rest of the Jamaican delegation will return to the island today after a four-day official visit to Cuba.



Already the government team has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Cubans for assistance to the agricultural sector.



Dr. Tufton noted that the deal would not take effect immediately because the two governments are to complete talks on one area.



Housing and Water Minister, Dr. Horace Chang and Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett spent most of yesterday finalising agreements with their Cuban counterparts.



Details of those agreements should be released this afternoon after the team returns to Jamaica.
