St. James gets new Superintendent

The Superintendent of roads and works at the St. Elizabeth Parish Council, Kenroy Stewart, is to replace, Tubal Brown, at the St. James Parish Council on Monday.



Mr. Brown was to be transferred to the St. Ann Parish Council, but his position as a superintendent of roads and works remains in limbo, pending the outcome of an investigation by the Parish Services Commission (PSC).



The PSC was asked to investigate Mr. Brown after it was revealed that he had approved a building permit for four story buildings to be constructed at the Riu Hotel in Montego Bay.



The council said it has no record of approval for four story buildings, but the developer has presented approved plans for the construction.



Prime Minister Bruce Golding has instructed that an enforcement notice be served on the developer of the hotel.
