World Wise Woes

There was more confusion at the offices of the World Wise Investment Club in New Kingston this morning as investors flocked the building demanding their payouts.

Several of the investors turned up from 7 a.m., but they were still to receive word on the status of their accounts.

One woman, who has been visiting the offices of World Wise for more than three weeks, said she is still to see her gains posted in her bank account as promised by World Wise.

Shortly before 11 a.m. around 50 investors gathered at the entrances to the building attempting to get in.

The company has restricted the number of persons allowed inside the office at any one time as part of its crowd control measures.

As the investors at one entrance waited impatiently to hear the latest on the payment of their gains, one client tried unsuccessfully to assure the others that their concerns would soon be addressed.

At the other entrance, one woman emerged from offices with news of hope.

She claimed she was told that her gains would be posted within another two days and she made it clear that she was not prepared to wait a minute longer.

Last week, Robert Colins, Public Relations and Marketing Manager at World Wise, said the delay was being experienced because the club was verifying all the accounts.

The Sunday Gleaner reported this week that World Wise would be closing all accounts under

$5,000 as part of the clubs efforts to reduce the number of people it has to deal with.
