The People\'s National Party, PNP has accepted the government’s invitation to resume the Vale Royal talks.

On Sunday, Prime Minister, Bruce Golding said he urgently wanted to resume the talks with a view to discussing the nation\'s crime problem.

PNP Chairman, Robert Pickersgill agrees that in light of the recent upsurge in violence the forthcoming talks should be dedicated to reaching a consensus on the issue.

However, Mr. Pickersgill added the PNP was disappointed that the government had not followed through on the decision of the previous meeting in January to convene subcommittees to facilitate discussion on 10 issues including national security.

According to Mr. Pickersgill the government had failed to provide the opposition with certain information that would advance the forging of the national consensus on some critical matters.
