The St. Ann’s Bay police have taken two men into custody in connection with yesterday’s robbery of a Digicel store in the parish capital.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Headley Coleman said the men were picked up yesterday evening and that arrangements are being made for an identification parade.

He said none of the stolen goods have been recovered.

Yesterday afternoon, three men, two armed with guns held up staff at the Digicel store at Square One Plaza at the corner of Main and Market Streets in St. Ann’s Bay.

The men reportedly robbed the store of $56,000 in cash and a quantity of cell phones valued at more than $50,000.

The gunmen then escaped on foot.

Detective Coleman said the police are still trying to recover the stolen items.

The incident is the third of three armed robberies in the parish in two days.

On Monday, a security guard was shot dead at the Island Village Plaza in Ocho Rios, while he was collecting money from several business places.

Yesterday morning, a man was robbed more than $70,000 after leaving the Scotia Bank Branch in Ocho Rios.

The robber was later taken into custody.
