The police have imposed a stop order on the constable and the corporal who are accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Portmore, St Catherine.

They are accused of forcing a woman to perform oral sex on them.

The Commanding Officer for the St. Catherine South Police Division, Superintendent Terrence Bent, said the alleged incident occurred on Wednesday night.

He said instructions were given to a sub-officer at the Greater Portmore Police Station that the accused policemen be detained.

However, they were able to leave the station.

According to Superintendent Bent, an investigation is now underway to determine the circumstances under which the accused policemen were allowed to leave.

Superintendent Bent said before the policemen left the station, pieces of forensic evidence were removed from them.

He said the accused policemen have since contacted the police station informing that they will turn themselves in once they have secured legal representation.

The Anti-corruption branch of the Police Force is probing the matter.

It is reported that on Wednesday night the constable and the corporal spotted a man and a woman in a car along Hellshire Beach in Portmore.

The policemen are accused of accepting a bribe from the couple. It is not clear why the bribe was offered.

It is further reported that the policemen took the woman to a location and forced her to perform oral sex on them.

After the ordeal, the woman went to the police station and reported the matter.
