After many years of waiting the residents of Kimma district in Bamboo St. Ann now have electricity in their community.

The light was turned on last night by Member of Parliament for North East St. Ann, Shahine Robinson much to the joy of the residents.

Mrs. Robison said the lack of electricity in Kimma was brought to her attention when she first became MP in 2001.

She said she has worked tirelessly since to ensure the residents enjoy the comfort of this utility.

Mrs. Robinson said the 2.1kilometers of distribution line and 28 houses wired by the rural electrification programme cost $4 million.

She also praised MP for North West St. Ann, Othniel Lawrence who shares a part of the district for his support.

Pauline Simpson, a resident, has been living in the district for more than 40 years and openly commended Mrs. Robinson for her efforts to bring electricity into the community.
