Gov’t urges UDC to package downtown redevelopment

Prime Minister Bruce Golding urged the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) to package the downtown Kingston redevelopment program in a way that will attract more investors to the area.



Mr. Golding said downtown, Kingston is unique and warrants serious development and investment.



The proposed development will include a transportation centre, festival market and waterfront walkway, West Kingston market district and railway museum.



It will also include a new parliament building, the head office of the foreign affairs and foreign trade ministry, a trade centre and a city centre park.
