PNP candidate bail extended

Peoples National Party (PNP) candidate, Homer White who is charged with unlawful wounding had his bail extended when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates Court this morning.



White was the unsuccessful candidate in the general election against Dr. Ken Baugh in the West Central St. Catherine constituency.



It is reported that in April, White was at his business place in Old Harbour, St. Catherine when he became involved in an argument with businessman Edward Lawson.



He allegedly allowed two men to beat Lawson who had to be hospitalised.



Following a report to the Police Commissioners Office, White was charged with unlawful wounding.



When he appeared before Resident Magistrate, Marcia Dunbar Green this morning,

Attorney-at-law Lawrence Haynes asked that White’s bail be extended until September 18.



He is currently on bail in the sum of $100,000.
