Oakland man returns to court

The man charged in connection with the murder of his ex girlfriend at the Oaklands apartment in St. Andrew last month is expected back in court today.

Steven Causewell, 32, was denied bail when he appeared before senior resident magistrate Glen Brown in the Corporate Area court on Monday.

The matter was put off because a file from the hospital was not ready.

Causewell was charged last Thursday, with the July 16 murder of his ex-girlfriend, 27 year old Nardia Mitchell.

Mitchell’s body was found on the grounds of the Oaklands Apartment complex on Constant Spring Road.

A post mortem revealed that the injuries Mitchell sustained were not consistent with a fall.

The police said the post mortem indicated that Mitchell died, after a blunt object was used to hit her on the head.
