Detectives from the Major Investigation Task Force are now trying to determine the motive for a triple murder in Kingston this morning.

Kadian Johnson, her brother, Henry Johnson and another man identified as Sheniel Haughton were killed by heavily armed gunmen around 4 a.m.

Two toddlers reportedly escaped unharmed.

Deputy Superintendent McArthur Sutherland said Haughton and the siblings were sleeping at their tenement houses when the gunmen attacked them.

An occupant of the house in which the Johnson siblings were killed said he and his common law wife were sleeping, when they were awakened by loud explosions.

Henry Johnson one of the siblings is said to have been the breadwinner for his family including his mother and his stepfather.

Johnson worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) in New Kingston.
