NWA targets Western Jamaica
The National Works Agency (NWA), announced it will be embarking on another major drainage and road improvement work programme in western Jamaica.
The road improvement work will be undertaken in Trelawny, Hanover, St. James and Westmoreland.
The NWA says $10 million will be spent on bushing and drain cleaning along 300 kilometres of roadway in the four parishes.
Another $3.8 million will be spent to patch roads in the four parishes.
They will include the Martha Brae to Kinloss stretch in Trelawny and the main road between Anchovy and Shettlewood in St. James.
The Kingsvale to Prospect roadway in Hanover and the Ferris to Georges Plain main road in Westmoreland will also be patched.
The NWA says this new improvement programme follows the completion of its $14 million flood mitigation project.
