Major police re-assignments
Police Commissioner Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin has announced the reassignment of several senior officers.
In a release issued this afternoon, the Police High Command said the reassignments would be published in the police force orders tomorrow.
The head of the Kingston East police division Superintendent, Assan Thompson will be heading to the tough St Catherine North division, which includes several Spanish Town communities.
Superintendent Harry Daley previously held that division, but he was reassigned to another about two months ago to allow for a probe into an altercation with a soldier.
Since that time Superintendent Daley has been arrested on corruption and extortion charges in relation to a separate case.
Superintendent Terrence Bent who was transferred from his St Catherine South Division to act as the commander for St Catherine North takes over from Senior Superintendent George Quallo in Half Way Tree as the head of the St. Andrew Central police division.
Senior Superintendent Quallo has been reassigned to the Police Services Branch to replace SSP Ronald Facey who is now on pre-retirement leave.
The head of the St. Thomas division, Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth is the new commander for the St Catherine South Police Division.
While Deputy Superintendent Michael Bailey will take over as the Divisional Commander for Kingston East.
Superintendent Derrick Knight moves from the crime challenged St. Andrew South Division to the Area 4 Police Headquarters.
Superintendent Knight will be replaced by Senior Superintendent of Police Donovan Graham who now serves at the Area 3 police headquarters.
