Police seek common law husband
The St. Andrew North police still are to locate the common law husband of a woman who was stabbed to death at the couple’s house in Lawrence Tavern on Wednesday.
Petrina Jarrett, 36, was reportedly stabbed by Anthony Tyrell during an argument around 3.30 a.m.
Detective Inspector Altemorth Campbell believes an ongoing domestic dispute is behind the woman’s death.
He said the couple was known to have been involved in regular quarrels.
According to Inspector Campbell, one of the woman’s four children woke up in the night and requested a cup of water.
He said while the woman was tending to the child an argument developed with the child’s father.
The woman reportedly ran outside where she was chased by Tyrell and stabbed during a struggle.
Inspector Campbell said Tyrell then escaped in nearby bushes with a travelling bag.
The police believe the murder was planned.
The woman leaves behind four children, three of whom are fathered by Tyrell.
