Attorney takes issue with police statement
Defence attorney Valerie Neita Robertson has taken issue with the statement released by the police yesterday regarding the alleged wire tapping of her telephone.
In the statement Deputy Commissioner Mark Shields, said the police were concerned that the reports by Mrs. Neita Robertson was in an attempt to divert public attention from a case involving Superintendent Harry Daley.
Superintendent Daley who is on extortion and corruption charges is represented by Mrs. Neita Robertson and Carolyn Reid.
The police also said they were concerned that the reports surrounding the illegal search of Mrs. Reid home was also to divert the public attention.
Mrs. Neita Robertson has taken the statement seriously, and she with her legal team is carefully looking into the possibility of taking action.
Mrs. Neita- Robertson says she is concerned that what DCP Shields said will affect the perception about her ability and that of Mrs Reid.
Furthermore, Mrs. Neita-Robertson says she will not be making a formal complaint to the police regarding the tapping of her phone as suggested by DCP Shields.
Yesterday the police rejected reports that the search was a part of their investigation into the case against Superintendent Daley.
