Vendors back at Bronx

Vendors who were removed from the Bronx area of the Mandeville arcade in Manchester will resume normal activities today, but in a different area.

According to Mayor of Mandeville, Councillor Brenda Ramsay, the vendors were moved to another section of the Mandeville arcade last week following a demolition exercise.

She said some operators of public passenger vehicles would be using the area from which the vendors were removed.

On the weekend, personnel from the Roads and works department reportedly commenced paving the area that was demolished last week.

Councillor for the Mandeville Division, Sally Porteous, said the vendors now have a greater understanding of why the demolition exercise was done.
