Clarendon \'ganja man\' sentenced

Mark Smith, 41, of Palmers Cross in Clarendon who was last month charged in connection with a massive ganja find in the parish has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Smith was sentenced when he appeared in the May Pen Resident Magistrates court today.
He was also ordered by the court to pay $15,000 or serve 12 months in prison for possession of ganja.
He was also fined $500,000 or three years for dealing in ganja.
Smith was charged with possession of and dealing in ganja.
Smith was among five persons who were charged for over 400 pounds of compressed ganja found at a house at Kennedy Grove in the parish.
The charges against the other four persons were dropped when they appeared in court last month.
