Children’s guardian to face charges
The May Pen police in Clarendon said the guardians of two children who were found dead inside the trunk of a car last week could be charged.
The police said the guardians could be charged for not exercising care and guardianship and for negligence.
The two children eight year old Treco Lewin and his five year old sister Lautavia were found dead at their house, inside the trunk of a car at Bushy Park in the parish.
A post mortem examination carried out on their bodies last week revealed that the children died as a result of suffocation.
The police had earlier reported that on August 8, the children were left unsupervised at their home in Bushy Park around 10.30 a.m. after a family member left the house.
On the return of the grandmother around 2 p.m. in the afternoon, the children were found missing and family members conducted a search.
