Westmoreland gunmen identified

Three of four men who were killed during a shoot-out with the police in Westmoreland on Sunday have now been identified.



They are Courtney ‘Cujo’ Simpson, 20, and Damion Stewart both of St. James.



The third man is Fabian ‘Hugo’ Sanchez, 21, of Beverly in Manchester.



The police said the men were among five men, who engaged them in a shoot out at Whitehall in the parish.



Two illegal guns, an AK 47 assault rifle containing six rounds and a Ruger Magnum revolver with six rounds were allegedly seized.



The police said a homemade shotgun with two 12-gauge cartridges was also seized.



According to the police, around 1.30 am.n on Sunday, they signalled a Nissan Bluebird with several men aboard to stop.



The police said after the vehicle stopped five men alighted and opened fire on them.



They returned the fire and the men fled.



Four of the men were later found with gun shot wounds during a search.



The police said they also recovered a number of items including a laptop, cellular phone and a US passport, which were robbed from a tourist earlier.
