Public entities referred
The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) has referred four public bodies to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for failure to submit their Quarterly Contract Award Reports.
The reports should be filed to the OCG, within one month after the ending of each quarter.
The OCG said the Attorney General’s Department and the Ministry of Agriculture were among four public entities that failed to submit the reports.
Repeat delinquents, The National Solid Waste Management Authority and The Office of the Children’s Advocate are the other two.
According to the OCG, any person who, without lawful justification or excuse, fails to comply with a lawful requisition of a Contractor General commits a criminal offence.
The OCG said it has achieved a 98 percent compliance rate since implementing a Zero Tolerance Policy to deal with Public Bodies and Public Officials, who refuse to comply with its requests.
