JUTC move

The Transport Ministry has decided to move the administrative offices of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) from its Spanish Town depot to Lyndhurst Road.
Transport Minister Mike Henry made the announcement this morning as he announced plans to streamline the operation of the cash strapped Bus Company.
Minister Henry admitted that the murder of JUTC Chairman Douglas Chambers at the Spanish Town Depot two months ago played a major role in the decision.
The Lyndhurst Road depot has been idle since late last year when the Government transferred its functions to the JUTC depot on Windward Road.
The Transport Minister has been acting as the JUTC chairman since the murder of Mr. Chambers on June 27.
