Jamaica go in search of more gold

Jamaica will try to add at least another medal to its tally on tomorrow’s final day of the 2008 Olympics at the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing, China.



The country will be represented in the men’s and women’s 4 by 400-metre relay finals.



The women’s final will start at 7.40 a.m. in the morning while the men’s will take the track at 8.04 a.m.



The women’s quartet of Novlene Williams, Shereefa Lloyd, Bobby-Gaye Wilkins and Shericka Williams qualified following a second place finish in the heat this morning.



The Jamaican women’s clocked a season-best 3.22.60 to finish second to the United States, which won in a season-best 3.22.45.



The men’s quartet of Michael Blackwood, Alodin Fothergill, Sanjay Ayre and Ricardo Chambers clocked a season-best three minutes and 09 seconds for third place behind Great Britain, which recorded a season-best 2.59.33 seconds.



Jamaica will enter the final day with a record medal tally of six gold, three silver and one bronze.
