The executive of the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) has given the government until the end of next month to settle on all the outstanding issues under the 2006/2008 heads of agreement.
The nurses say several issues including the reclassification exercise and an increase in salaries are yet to be settled.
This morning the NAJ called an extraordinary meeting to discuss the outstanding issues.
First vice president at the NAJ, Noel Julius says while the association acknowledges that work is being done, its not satisfied with the pace at which the issues are being addressed.
Mr. Julius says the nurses are facing severe challenges and are calls for the government to move speedily to settle the issues.
