BITU on union busting

The Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) is accusing the management of beverage producers, RST Industries Limited of using union busting tactics against employees seeking representation.



BITU negotiating officer, Rudolph Thomas says since the union served representational rights on the workers a month ago, the workers have been victimised.



He says several of the workers were told that they would be fired or laid off if they became a part of the union.



He says he has now requested the intervention of the Labour Ministry in the matter.
