KSAC returns to court
Lawyers representing the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) and tenants at a plaza in Cross Roads, Kingston are heading back to court today.
The parities have been at odds since the KSAC served notice on the operator of the plaza to demolish the building.
The KSAC has described the building as a safety hazard and attempted to demolish it two Saturdays ago.
Attorney-at-law Abe Dabdoub got a court injunction barring the demolition.
However, when the matter was mention in the Supreme Court last Monday, lawyers representing the KSAC agreed that the stay of execution, which was previously granted should remain in effect until August 27.
The occupants of the building have been asking the KSAC for more time to allow them to make alternative arrangements.
The KSAC will be spending approximately $10 million to demolish the illegal building.
