1M customers activated on Digicel’s one rate option

Just three weeks after announcing its new one rate option of J$8.99 per minute for calls to any number on any local network at any time, telecoms firm Digicel Jamaica has announced that one million customers have been activated on that service.
Launched on Friday, March 2, Digicel’s one rate option sees prepaid customers saving up to 47 per cent on local calls.
Mark Linehan, chief executive officer of Digicel Jamaica, said “The customer reaction … has been phenomenal as evidenced by over one million of our customers now enjoying the benefits.”
The company said that in addition, to ensure that Digicel customers continue to benefit from the best value, they can still avail themselves of Digicel’s “Gimme Five” promotion with offers on texting and local and international calling, while per second billing applies as standard.
