Abductor killed

One of two men who allegedly abducted and raped a woman in Portmore St. Catherine was killed by the police yesterday.



The police said they were on patrol shortly after midnight, when a Hiace bus was seen parked on Grange Lane.



They said two gunmen shot at them while they were trying to approach the vehicle.



The police reportedly returned the fire and Keron Walters, 22, of Greater Portmore was shot dead.



A 9-millimeter pistol with a magazine containing two cartridges was reportedly taken from him.



The other man escaped in the area.



The woman and Walters were taken to hospital, where Walters was pronounced dead and the female treated.
