The Finance Minister announced two international teams are now in Jamaica seeking to advance the administrative tax reform system.
One of the teams is from the International Monetary Fund, IMF, and the other from the World Bank.
The Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, said in 2006 the IMF presented a report to the PNP administration on tax reform, but it was ignored.
The Government would soon present a bill in Parliament to increase the penalties for corrupt persons working in the tax system.
