Regular activities at the Brown’s Town Health Centre in St. Ann are to resume today following a shut down of the facility yesterday.
Patients who turned up for treatment yesterday had to return home after workers at the health centre closed the facility.
The workers were protesting against a break-in at the facility, which left it without water.
Thieves reportedly broke into the health centre and stole a 1,000-gallon water drum, which supplies water to the facility.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Othneil Lawrence, has since replaced the stolen drum.
The workers have called for the North Eastern Health Regional Authority to implement proper security at the facility.
Workers say thieves constantly plague the health centre.
