Deputy Superintendent Yvonne Martin Henry of the police training division was granted bail in the sum of $220,000 when she appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning.

The police superintendent was previously charged with manslaughter for the death of a 34 year old police constable, Mark Needham on July 15.

Constable Needham was killed after he was hit from his motorbike by a vehicle, which was being driven by Martin Daley along the Spanish Town Bypass.

Both Martin Daley and Needham were reportedly travelling towards Kingston when the policewoman made a U-turn hitting the constable from his bike.

He died on the spot.

Constable Needham was assigned to the Elletson Road Traffic Department in St. Andrew.
