Six arrested in MoBay double murder case

The police in Montego Bay, St James have taken six men into custody for questioning in connection with a double murder in the parish on Wednesday.



The six were picked up during a special operation at North Gully yesterday morning.



Their identities have not been released, as they are to face an identification parade.



Fourteen-year-old Tajay Malcolm and his 31-year-old stepfather Jermaine Samuels were killed on King Street about 3:00 p.m.



Tajay’s 18-year-old sister was also injured in the attack.



The men have also been charged with breaches of the Firearm Act.



The police say a special police team was on operation in the North Gully area where several houses were searched.



According to the police a premises occupied by the men was searched and three illegal firearms and 28 rounds of ammunition were found.



The police say one of the illegal guns was stolen from a security guard who was killed in August on William Street in Montego Bay.



The police say the men are also being questioned in connection with several other crimes committed in the Montego Bay area.
